Abstract

This study aims to determine the ideological direction and framing of money politics reporting from the online media CNN Indonesia and Sindonews in the 2019 presidential election performance in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative technique that applies a descriptive approach, with the framing analysis technique of the Robert N. Entman model and data collection techniques for literature review and document review by taking relevant papers and articles. The research object used is online media news about the 2019 presidential election which was reported by CNN Indonesia and Sindonews. The results of this study produce different problem solving, even though the content is the same. From the point of view of the online media Sindonews.com, it can be concluded that the media neutrally describes cases of money politics that occur, without elevating one group and demeaning another. In addition, the language used by the media seems formal and neatly arranged.
