Gender stereotypes are still the hegemonic ideology in which women occupy the highest position as victims of injustice. Gender stereotypes are constructed through the media, one of which is film. The purpose of this study was to find out the stereotypes that occur to women in the film Hanum and Rangga. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher uses a qualitative descriptive research type with John Fiske's Semiotics method. The unit of analysis is syntagm and paradigm from the level of reality, representation and ideology, the theory used is Naomi Wolf's feminism. The findings in this study are stereotypes of women depicted through the character Hanum in the film Hanum and Rangga
