This study investigates the effect of the Predict, Observe, and Explain (POE) learning model integrated with a Monopoly game on fifth-grade elementary school students’ conceptual understanding of science, particularly the human respiratory system. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The participants were 50 fifth-grade students from SDN Ngampelsari, who were divided equally into an experimental group and a control group, with 25 students in each group. Data were collected using a conceptual understanding test that demonstrated good validity and reliability. The approach provides an active, interactive, and meaningful learning experience that supports students in developing a deeper understanding of the human respiratory system.
