This study aims to describe the role of teachers in fostering independence in early childhood. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving three teachers as subjects, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that teachers play a crucial role in developing children's independence through consistent habituation activities. These activities include encouraging children to put away their own bags and shoes, wash their hands without assistance, tidy up toys after use, choose play activities independently, and express their opinions confidently. Teachers also provide motivation and positive reinforcement—such as praise—to boost the children's self-confidence. However, certain obstacles remain, such as variations in children's developmental levels and parenting styles that do not fully support independence. Therefore, effective collaboration between teachers and parents is essential to ensure optimal development of the children's independence.
