UI Design for Child Growth and Development Educational Media to Improve the Quality of Information Services at Wava Husada Hospital

Abstract

Child growth and development are important indicators of future health. However, hospital health information delivery still relies heavily on conventional media, which may be less engaging and effective, making it difficult for parents to understand growth and development information. This study aimed to design a User Interface (UI) for child growth and development educational media at Wava Husada Hospital. The study used a Research and Development method with a User-Centered Design approach comprising four stages: understanding context of use, specifying user requirements, producing design solutions, and evaluating designs. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale involving 35 parents or guardians. The resulting UI included login, home, child profile, educational content, growth charts, nutrition calculator, nutritional status interpretation, and quizzes. The SUS score was 85.86, categorized as Excellent, Grade A, and Acceptable. The design can support future development of digital educational media for parents.
