Abstract

This study describes the design and development of an Extended Reality (XR) application to introduce hijaiyah letters to children aged 5–6 years at the Arrochmah Integrated PAUD Foundation. The development followed the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) with six stages: concept, design, material collection, creation, testing, and distribution. Built using Unity and C# with 3D assets from Blender, the application runs on Oculus Quest 2 and features two virtual learning environments—Classroom and Garden—each containing 14 hijaiyah letters with 3D visualization, audio pronunciation, and interactive quizzes. Functional testing used black box methods, while trials with 10 children showed an average score increase from 2.9 (Sufficient) to 4.4 (Very Good). A Likert‑based feasibility questionnaire yielded 86%, categorized as very feasible. The results indicate that the XR hijaiyah application is an effective interactive medium for helping children recognize the shape, sound, and pronunciation of hijaiyah letters.
