This study aims to develop a science e-book based on local wisdom, integrated with outdoor learning methods, to improve the cognitive learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students. The background of this study is rooted in the low science learning outcomes resulting from instruction that remains textbook-centered and lacks contextual relevance. The product developed is an e-book titled “Getting to Know Plants in the School Environment,” which contains material on plants based on the students’ surroundings in Sidoarjo, complete with illustrations, assessments, and interactive activities. Learning is conducted through direct observation of plants in the school environment so that students gain real-world learning experiences. The integration of digital media with environment-based learning makes the material more concrete, engaging, and meaningful. The use of e-books based on local wisdom has the potential to increase motivation, conceptual understanding, and cognitive learning outcomes in science compared to conventional textbook-based learning.
