This study aims to examine the influence of time management effectiveness and role balance on work–academic conflict among working students. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. The sample consisted of 161 working students in Sidoarjo selected through accidental sampling. Data were collected using a four-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results showed that time management effectiveness and role balance simultaneously had a significant effect on work–academic conflict, with an R² value of 0.549. Partially, time management effectiveness had a positive effect on work–academic conflict, whereas role balance had a negative effect and emerged as the most dominant factor in reducing work–academic conflict. These findings indicate that strengthening role balance is more effective in minimizing work–academic conflict than focusing solely on time management. Therefore, role balance should be prioritized to support working students in managing both academic and occupational responsibilities effectively..
