Web-Based Library Collection Information System Using an API-Driven Architecture with the VEF Stack

Digital libraries require systems that support collection access, academic work distribution, transaction control, and structured validation. This study designs and develops a web-based digital library collection reservation and distribution information system using an API-driven architecture with the VEF stack. The system was developed with Nuxt 3/Vue 3, Express.js, Firebase Firestore, Google Drive API, and AI-assisted modules for metadata analysis, publication-source detection, and cover generation. The development method used Agile Scrum through problem identification, data collection, product backlog, sprint planning, sprint development, review, implementation, and testing. The system supports catalogue management, bookmarking, academic work submission, collection verification, external-source references, manual payment transactions, download history, and academic payout. Black Box Testing showed all 20 scenarios worked as expected, while User Acceptance Testing achieved 98.75%, categorized as highly feasible.
