Abstract

This study investigates the effect of interactive e-books on the reading summarization skills of elementary students. Utilizing a quantitative One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, the research involved 20 fifth-grade students at SDN Kedungrawan 2. Data was collected through summarization tests assessed on main idea accuracy, completeness, conciseness, coherence, and grammar. Analysis using the Paired Sample t-Test showed a significant improvement, with average scores increasing from 60.60 (pretest) to 73.85 (posttest). The significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) confirms a meaningful difference in students' abilities after the intervention. Therefore, interactive e-books serve as an effective learning medium to help students understand texts, extract key information, and write coherent summaries using their own words.
