The Effect of Canva-Based Learning on the Cognitive Abilities of Fifth-Grade Elementary School Students

This study aims to examine the effect of Canva-based learning materials on the cognitive abilities of fifth-grade elementary school students during solar system lessons. It employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. Cognitive performance was assessed through pre-test and post-test assessments, as well as evalution of students work using a rubric. Data were analyzed in stages: first, the mean scores were calculated; then, normality was tested; and finally, hypothesis testing was conducted using a paired t-test. The results showed that the average score increased from 67.9 to 82.4. The significance level was 0.000 (less than 0.05), indicating that Canva was proven to significantly improve students’ cognitive performance. Its visually appealing interface made students more active, encouraged them to express their ideas, and kept them engaged in the learning process.
