Abstract

Promotion is a form of marketing that can effectively increase the purchase of goods or services. However, promotional practices that occur on premium access services on paid streaming platforms involve illegal practices that are considered commonplace in society. The benefit of this research is to increase insight and understanding regarding digital law, especially regarding the promotion of illegal sharing accounts. This study uses a normative juridical method that utilizes both legal and conceptual approaches. The results of the study indicate that although there are no clear regulations prohibiting the promotion of paid accounts, such activities may be unlawful if associated with unauthorized access, illegal distribution of paid content, and violations of standard platform contracts. Therefore, to provide legal security and protect the copyright and economic interests of paid streaming service providers, regulatory strengthening and clarity of legal standards are needed.
