This study analyzed the effect of the Know, Want to Know, Learned (KWL) learning model on the learning outcomes of third-grade students in understanding expository texts at SDN Jerukgamping. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The results showed an improvement in students’ learning outcomes in the experimental class, with a higher average score compared to the control class. The hypothesis testing results indicated a significance value of less than 0.05, which means that there was a significant effect of the KWL learning model on students’ learning outcomes. Therefore, the KWL learning model was proven effective in improving students’ understanding of expository texts.
