Abstract

This study investigates the influence of TikTok media on Generation Z students' understanding of Islamic Education (PAI) material, focusing on the prayer (shalat) chapter, at SMK Telkom Sidoarjo. Employing a quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-Posttest model, the research involved 39 tenth-grade students as the sample, all classified as Generation Z. Data were collected through pretest and Posttest assessments on prayer movements and recitations, then analyzed using SPSS version 26 for descriptive statistics, normality tests, paired sample t-test, and effect size. Results showed the mean pretest score rose from 82.82 (baseline understanding on a 0-100 scale) to 92.69 Posttest. The Paired Sample T-Test indicated a significant difference (p = 0.000 < 0.05), while Cohen's d effect size (> 0.8) confirmed a strong impact. These findings, derived from field data of the 39 participants, demonstrate TikTok's significant enhancement of cognitive and practical understanding
