Occupational health and safety (OHS) is an important aspect of industrial operations, especially in the area of Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) which have a high level of risk. One of the efforts to implement OHS is to ensure compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by operators. However, manual supervision has limitations in terms of effectiveness and consistency. This research aims to develop an automatic PPE usage detection system using the You Only Look Once version 5 (YOLOv5) algorithm. The research method includes data collection and labeling, data preprocessing, model training, and system testing using images and pictures obtained from CCTV recordings. The research results show that the best model was achieved in a scenario with a resolution of 416, a batch size of 16, and 120 epochs, with a mAP value of 89.02%.
