This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving elementary students’ creative thinking skills in ecosystem material. The research was motivated by students’ low creative thinking skills due to teacher-centered learning. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the nonequivalent control group design, was used. The subjects were fifth-grade students of UPT SDN 148 Gresik, divided into an experimental class and a control class. The instrument used was a descriptive test based on creative thinking indicators: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, independent sample t-test, and effect size. The results showed a significant difference between the two classes (sig. 0.000 < 0.05) with a very large effect size (3.15). Thus, the PjBL model is effective in enhancing students’ creative thinking skills and is recommended for broader and sustainable implementation in science learning contexts.
