Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common issue among secondary school students, negatively affecting academic achievement, time management, and psychological well-being. It is often associated with low self-regulated learning (SRL), which hinders students’ ability to manage their learning independently. Although the relationship between SRL and procrastination has been widely studied, practical and easily implemented school-based interventions remain limited. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of SRL-based psychoeducation in reducing academic procrastination among eleventh-grade students at SMK Informatika Tulangan. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design, the study involved 30 students identified as habitual procrastinators. Data were collected using an academic procrastination scale before and after the intervention and analyzed using a paired samples test. The results showed a significant reduction in procrastination levels (p < 0.05), with fewer students in the severe category and more in moderate and mild categories, indicating the intervention’s effectiveness.
