Collaboration of PAI Learning in Public Elementary Schools and TPQ Institutions in the Context of Madurese Society
Kolaborasi Pembelajaran PAI di SD Negeri dan Lembaga TPQ dalam Konteks Masyarakat Madura

This study examines the collaboration between Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in public elementary schools and Al-Qur'an Education Centers (TPQ) within the Madurese community in Pasuruan City. It focuses on four aspects: collaboration objectives, institutional roles, implementation, and outcomes. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research was conducted at a public elementary school in Rejoso Subdistrict. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving principals, PAI teachers, TPQ teachers, and students. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, including data condensation, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that collaboration addresses limitations in PAI learning, especially in worship practices and Qur’anic literacy. Schools emphasize religious knowledge and values, while TPQ focuses on practical skills and habituation. Although informal and without formal agreements, the collaboration is effective through integrated activities and trust-based communication, positively impacting students’ religious competence, character formation, and discipline.
