This study analyzes the deconstruction of gender identity by Gen Z beauty influencer @akunbarukarel on TikTok using Jacques Derrida's deconstruction theory and qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and content analysis. The results show that Karel displays a fluid and inclusive gender identity, challenging the binary boundaries of masculinity and femininity, and opening up discussions about gender diversity on social media. Gen Z audiences are largely accepting of this gender expression, while some conservatives reject it. Furthermore, Karel's gender-fluid content provides social impact and economic opportunities through collaborations with various beauty brands, making TikTok a crucial medium in shaping new, more open and dynamic gender narratives.
