Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of Islamic character-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) to strengthen students' critical thinking skills in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). Using a descriptive qualitative approach at SDN Buduran Sidoarjo, the research highlights the integration of "Amanah" (trustworthiness) as a key determinant of collaboration and objectivity. Results indicate that the Amanah character stimulates structured, autonomous teamwork and honesty in data reporting. Internalizing this value transforms academic accountability into moral responsibility, directly enhancing the precision and depth of students' arguments during discussions. The findings suggest that effective critical thinking reinforcement requires a spiritual character foundation to achieve meaningful and collectively accountable learning. This integration serves as a vital strategy for optimizing essential competencies within the Kurikulum Merdeka at the elementary school level.
