The Effectiveness of Podcast Media on Social Studies Learning Outcomes on the Theme of Indonesian Cultural Diversity among Third Grade Students at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Taman

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of monologue podcast media in improving Social Studies learning outcomes on Indonesian Cultural Diversity among third-grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Taman. The research applied a quantitative pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 28 students. Instruments included a validated and reliable multiple-choice test and a four-point Likert scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and N-Gain analysis. Results showed a significant increase in students’ scores, with the average rising from 46.29 (pretest) to 86.86 (posttest). The Wilcoxon test indicated a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), confirming a meaningful difference before and after treatment. N-Gain results demonstrated moderate to high improvement levels. Additionally, student responses were predominantly positive, indicating that monologue podcast media is an effective and innovative alternative for elementary Social Studies learning.
