Application of Statistical Process Control and Kaizen in Concrete Product Quality Control
Penerapan Statistical Process Control dan Kaizen dalam Pengendalian Kualitas Produk Beton

This study aims to improve quality control of precast concrete products at PT XYZ, which still experiences recurring defects that lead to rework costs, despite defect rates being close to the company’s tolerance limit. Statistical Process Control (SPC) shows that the production process is statistically under control, but Pareto analysis identifies four dominant defects: chipped edges, porous fins, misaligned joint plates, and surface adhesion defects. Fishbone analysis indicates that defects are mainly caused by inadequate methods, low worker attentiveness, imprecise molds, and insufficient lighting. Based on these results, improvement proposals were developed using the 5W–1H approach to continuously reduce defects in line with company standards.
