Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of the Qur’an Reading and Writing (BTQ) program in shaping students’ religious habitus at SMK Negeri 1 Surabaya from the perspective of Islamic Education Management. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving BTQ teachers, Islamic Education teachers/class advisors, and students. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal that the BTQ program is managed in a planned, sustainable, and adaptive manner through the implementation of managerial functions, including planning, organizing, implementation, and control (POAC). The program emphasizes religious habituation through consistent Qur’an reading practices within a humanistic and supportive learning environment. Teacher commitment and institutional support serve as key enabling factors, while limited time allocation and students’ diverse abilities remain challenges. This study highlights that effective program management plays a strategic role in fostering students’ religious habitus in vocational secondary education.
