The Relationship Between Father Involvement and Romantic Attachment Style Among Young Adult Women in Sidoarjo

Emerging adult women often prioritize serious romantic relationships, where security, trust, and emotional support are essential, yet attachment styles vary across individuals. One factor influencing their development is father involvement, particularly through consistent presence, care, and emotional support from early life. This quantitative correlational study examined the relationship between father involvement and romantic attachment styles among 288 young women in Sidoarjo Regency, recruited through snowball sampling and surveyed online. Father involvement was measured using a scale developed by Kirana Kasih Adda, while romantic attachment style was assessed using the Adult Attachment Style (AAS) scale by Collins and Read, adapted by Manda Eka Azaria. The findings indicate that higher perceived father involvement is associated with more adaptive attachment styles in romantic relationships.
