Learning Media Innovation, Islamic Religious Education, SWOT AnalysisAbstract
This study explores learning media innovation by Islamic Religious Education teachers in Indonesian elementary schools using a qualitative SWOT analysis. A case study was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Candi Sidoarjo involving the school principal, two PAI teachers (grades III and V), and selected students. Data were gathered through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model combined with SWOT. The findings indicate four main types of media innovation: digital presentations, audio-visual videos, concrete teaching aids, and teacher-developed contextual modules. The use of interactive media increased student participation, engagement, and task completion. SWOT analysis highlighted strong institutional support and teacher creativity as strengths, while limited digital facilities and unequal technological skills were identified as key constraints. Overall, systematic media innovation was shown to enhance student engagement and support differentiated religious learning.
