The movie Bombshell is a biographical drama depicting the sexual harassment scandal at Fox News, where Roger Ailes was accused of harassing female employees and demanding sexual favors in exchange for career advancement. In the film, Roger Ailes’ character represents violations of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Code of Ethics through unethical conduct and abuse of power. This research aims to analyze ethical violations in the public relations profession as portrayed in Bombshell (2019) using a semiotic approach based on Charles Sanders Peirce’s theory. The study focuses on ethical principles established by the PRSA and applies qualitative research methods, including observation, scene documentation, and interpretative analysis. The findings reveal that company leadership violated core PRSA values: Honesty, Advocacy, Expertise, Independence, Loyalty, and Fairness. These results are expected to deepen understanding of ethics in public relations practice and encourage critical reflection among professionals regarding workplace ethical violations.
