The Strategy of Female Principals Leadership for Improving Teacher and Employee Performance in Islamic Private Schools

This qualitative study with phenomenological approach aims to analyze the leadership strategies of female principals in improving the performance of teachers and staff in private Islamic schools. This study was motivated by limited number of studies that examined female leadership practices in the Islamic education context, particularly those that have an impact on the performance of non-teaching staff. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. Data validity was maintained through source and technique triangulation. The results showed that the leadership strategies of female principals were built on three main pillars. First, participatory-ideological leadership rooted in religious values that manifested through exemplary behavior, a spiritual approach, and the ability to manage dual roles as institutional leaders and as housewives. Second, structured collaboration strategies through hierarchical coordination mechanisms (C0, C1, and C2). Third, inclusive performance improvement strategies through professional and spiritual guidance, work-life balance management, and performance evaluation.
