Analisis Visual Storytelling Dalam Film “Grusah Grusuh” Tentang Kurangnya Komunikasi

Abstract

Communication is the process of conveying ideas and emotions from a communicator to an audience. One evolving form of communication in the modern era is film, which functions as mass media by delivering messages through audio-visual elements such as dialogue, imagery, and narrative structure. This study examines how visual storytelling in Paniradya Kaistimewan’s short film Grusah Grusuh represents the lack of communication among citizens. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research analyzes seven visual components proposed by Bruce Block: space, line, shape, tone, color, movement, and rhythm. Data were collected through observation and documentation of 15 selected scenes relevant to the research focus. The findings show that deep space composition, line closure, contrasting saturated colors, tracking shots, and repetitive audio-visual rhythms effectively build tension and strengthen the narrative without heavy dialogue. Overall, the film’s visual storytelling illustrates how poor communication leads to misunderstanding and social conflict within the community context
