Character is a personal trait that distinguishes one individual from another and is influenced by various factors, especially the environment and parenting. Parents, particularly mothers, play a vital role in shaping children’s character through daily education and upbringing. Good character education from an early age becomes the foundation for future success. A mother, as the closest figure, greatly determines a child’s development. Proper parenting helps build positive character, while lack of competence in care may negatively affect it. This study aims to analyze the mother’s role as the primary educator in the family and to examine how parenting influences children’s character formation. Using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach, data were collected through observation and interviews. The results show that differences in parental background also influence child development. These findings highlight the importance of responsive and supportive parenting, regardless of parents’ economic or educational status.
