The success of political struggles in the era of globalization and advanced technology is significantly influenced by the media, particularly online news platforms. Two of the most influential media outlets in Indonesia are Kompas.com and Detik.com. This study aims to describe the extent to which the “slepet” slogan of a vice-presidential candidate was covered by these two platforms. Employing Robert N. Entman’s Framing Analysis, the research identifies the use of online media for political purposes through four stages: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgement, and treatment recommendation. The findings reveal that Detik.com tends to frame Muhaimin Iskandar’s “slepet” slogan as an expression with negative connotations. In contrast, Kompas.com more frequently presents Muhaimin Iskandar and his slogan as part of the solution to various issues in Indonesia, thereby creating a more positive political image in the public’s perception.
