Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the school literacy movement in increasing the reading interest of fourth grade students of Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo Elementary School. This research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo with participants consisting of fourth grade teachers and fourth grade students. This type of research uses qualitative with phenomenological methods. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. In order for the data to be considered valid, testing was carried out through the source triangulation stage. While data analysis techniques through data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Therefore, the results show that the school literacy movement has been well implemented through 3 stages. The existence of the school literacy movement also has a positive impact on increasing students' interest in reading at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo and is quite successful in fostering the reading interest of grade IV students.
