This study aims to design and implement an analog dimmer-based sewing machine motor speed control system using TRIAC and DIAC components as a simple, effective, and economical solution for household and small industrial users. The system was designed and experimentally tested using main components such as the TRIAC BT136, DIAC DB3, and a 500kΩ potentiometer. Test results indicate that the system can gradually and stably regulate the speed of a universal AC motor, maintaining speed stability under light to moderate loads. This system can serve as an alternative motor speed controller for sewing machines without requiring a microcontroller or complex digital system.
