The Effect of Principal Managerial Competence and Work Climate on Teacher Performance

This study examines the influence of school principals’ managerial competence and work climate on teacher
performance at SDI Cahaya Islami. The research employed a quantitative design with a quasiexperimental approach. The population consisted of all teachers at SDI Cahaya Islami, totaling 36 individuals. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS. The results show that the principal’s managerial competence has a greater impact on teacher performance, with an average score of 65.42, compared to the work climate, which has an average score of 57.89. A significance value of 0.001 (< 0.05) indicates a significant difference between the effects of the two variables. Simultaneously, both variables have a positive and significant influence on teacher performance, as evidenced by the F-test results (F = 24.915; sig. = 0.001). These findings highlight the importance of strong leadership and a supportive work climate in improving teacher performance at the elementary school level.
