Design Planning of Organic Waste Melting Stove by Utilizing Used Oil as Fuel and Water Vapor as Combustion Booster

Abstract

Organic waste and used oil are two types of waste that continue to increase in number in Indonesia, but have not been optimally utilized. This research aims to design an energy-efficient organic waste burning stove by utilizing used oil and water as alternative fuels. The system is designed using a 2 bar pressurized steam boiler that replaces the function of a blower or compressor, so it does not require additional electrical energy. The research method includes thermodynamic design of the boiler, steam flow simulation using CAD software, and analysis of energy requirements and boiler structure. The calculation results show that the system is able to produce a steam production rate of 0.0170 kg/s with a used oil consumption of 1,2 kg/hour. The steam flow velocity generated at the nozzle reaches an average of 432.2 m/s, sufficient to improve combustion efficiency. Stainless Steel 201 was used as the boiler material with
