Abstract

Engine performance refers to the engine’s ability to generate power in fulfilling its function, particularly in automatic transmission vehicles. This study aims to examine the influence of primary pulley diameter and roller weight as independent variables on the performance of a 150cc engine. The goal is to provide technical recommendations to automatic motorcycle users, especially in selecting the appropriate roller weight to optimize performance. The research was conducted experimentally using a Vario 150cc engine, with a dynotest tool used to measure changes in torque and horsepower. The results showed that using a lighter roller (12 grams) yielded optimal performance, producing 36.74 Nm of torque and 12.24 hp of power with the Vario pulley, and 32.70 Nm of torque and 15.02 hp of power with the PCX pulley. These findings indicate that variations in pulley diameter and roller weight have a direct effect on engine power distribution and overall vehicle performance.
