Abstract

This study analyzes the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in the halal tourism sector through a bibliometric review of scientific publications. Using a quantitative method, data were collected from the Scopus database with the keywords “artificial intelligence and machine learning in the halal tourism sector.” A total of 465 publications from 1999 to 2024, including articles, books, and conference papers, were analyzed using R-Packages and Biblioshiny. The findings show that AI and ML play a key role in driving digital transformation, enhancing service efficiency, innovation, and personalization for Muslim travelers. The growing number of publications highlights increasing academic and technological interest. This synergy between research, technology, and policy strengthens the halal tourism industry’s competitiveness in the digital era.
