This study discusses the role of waqf as a financial instrument to enhance economic empowerment in Indonesia, particularly for MSMEs. Waqf, especially cashwaqf, holds great potential to support communities through interestfree financing and entrepreneurial training. In 2022, Indonesia became the most generous country, with rapid growth in cash waqf, projected to reach IDR 180 trillion annually. However, challenges such as transparency and management efficiency still hinder its optimal use. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating technology into waqf management systems to boost donor trust and participation. A case study of BMT Amanah Ummah Surabaya illustrates how innovative waqf collection can drive local economic growth. Guided by the principles of maqasid sharia,the implementation of waqf aims not only for financial sustainability but also to reduce poverty and improve quality of life. Collaboration among the government,financial institutions,and the public is crucial to building a supportive ecosystem for MSME financing through waqf.
