Abstract

The problem of household waste is an urgent environmental issue because suboptimal management can have a negative impact on the environment and public health. To overcome this, an Android-based Smart Waste Management application has been developed that utilizes artificial intelligence to identify the type of waste through the scanner feature and provides recommendations for recycling into crafts. The development of this application uses the Waterfall Method which includes requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. Testing with the Black Box Testing method shows that this application is able to identify waste with high accuracy and provide useful recycling guidelines for users. Hopefully, this application can increase public awareness of the importance of waste management and contribute to protecting the environment.
