Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is Indonesia's step to improve the national education system. This study aims to analyze the strategy of Islamic Education Institutions in implementing the Independent Curriculum. The research method used is a literature review, with the PRISMA approach. The data taken is in the form of a literature review published above 2020 through Google Scholar. There are four stages of PRISMA's approach: identification, screening, eligibility, and included. The results of the analysis show that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Islamic Education Institutions has made a positive contribution in improving students' critical thinking skills, student independence, soft skills development, and critical learning. However, challenges such as teacher readiness, understanding of the curriculum, availability of resources, and infrastructure still need to be considered to improve the effectiveness of curriculum implementation.
