Management of Primary Dysmenorrhea by Pharmacological and Nonpharmacological Means

Dysmenorrhea menstrual pain that disrupts adolescent activities. Adolescents who experience dysmenorrhea are around 16.8-81%. How to deal with dysmenorrhea during menstruation general by pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods. This research describe the degree dysmenorrhea and efforts treat dysmenorrhea in female students at SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Gedangan by pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods. Research using quantitative with descriptive design. The population and sample the study were class X with a total of 46 students. The results the study showed that 67.4% of female students experienced mild degrees pain. All efforts treat dysmenorrhea non-pharmacologically by consuming herbal turmeric were 69.6%, warm compresses were 15.2%, and lubricating lotion was 10.9%. The conclusion in this study that all non-pharmacological treatment efforts can reduce the degree dysmenorrhea in female students. It is hoped that health workers can work together with the education providing health education young women related to dysmenorrhea and efforts to deal with it
