Abstract

Material inventory control is one form of success for a company in achieving the fulfilment of customer needs. Based on data from PT Weiss Tech in 2023 the total cost of inventory of material axles and pipe boxes is IDR 256,321,126.67. The company's needs data states that there are material deviations including ss 304 5/8 ‘excess 12 metres, ss 304 7/8 ’shortage 12 metres, and ms t 4 x 60 x 60 box pipe shortage 18 metres. This causes company losses due to high procurement costs.The purpose of this study, the first is to analyse material inventory using the ABC (Always Better Control) method, which groups materials based on the percentage of material requirements and and the second is to determine the minimum cost of material inventory using a dynamic program.The result of this study is the minimum cost of material inventory of IDR 22,555,000.
