Abstract

Gadget is an innovation of technology that is developing rapidly to date, which makes users become dependent with better capabilities. The latest features have a purpose or function that is more practical and also more useful. This gadget can be found anywhere, both in adults and children. Excessive use of gadgets can have an impact on children's speech and language development. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the duration of gadget use and the development of language and speech. This study used an analytic method with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 30 mothers who had toddlers aged 3-5 years in Ketimang village, Wonoayu. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire on the intensity of gadget use and a developmental pre-screening questionnaire in Ketimang Village. Data analysis used the Chi-square test with a significance level of p <0.05.
