The Ta’hil Program as an Effort to Enhance Teacher Quality at Pondok Pesantren Fadllillah

Teacher quality is important for effective learning in Islamic boarding schools. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Ta’hil Program at Fadllillah Islamic Boarding School, identify teacher development activities, analyze supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine its role in improving teacher quality. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings show that the Ta’hil Program prepares teachers before teaching for one semester. Development activities include subject-matter preparation, guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer from senior teachers. Supporting factors include clear objectives, prepared teaching materials, senior teacher involvement, and sufficient preparation time. The main inhibiting factor is the limited availability of teachers specializing in Science, Mathematics, and Astronomy. The program strengthens readiness, subject-matter mastery, and learning.
