Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) is widely used in industrial and construction sectors due to its lightweight, corrosion resistance, and structural strength. This study investigates the behavior of Polyoxymethylene (POM) as the ACP core after exposure to 300°C, 350°C, and 400°C for one hour. The ACP consisted of a 5052 aluminum alloy cover, N-193 aluminum adhesive, POM core, and fire-retardant coating. Microstructural observations were conducted before and after testing using an optical microscope (OM) at 1000× magnification. Before testing, the POM contained carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O). After high-temperature exposure, hydrogen and oxygen were released as gases, leaving carbon as the remaining element. Carbon adhered to the aluminum surface and spread over a wider area. The POM remained attached to the aluminum at all tested temperatures, increasing its mass. Carbon did not melt because its melting point is approximately 3,550°C.
