The advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has led to deepfake technology, which can manipulate facial appearance, voice, and behavior. Its misuse on short-form platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and SnackVideo may facilitate misinformation, defamation, privacy violations, and public opinion manipulation. This study aims to analyze the basis for digital platform liability for deepfake dissemination in Indonesia and assess whether their internal policies are consistent with regulations. This normative research uses systematic interpretation by examining Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, Government Regulation Number 71 of 2019 concerning Electronic Systems and Transactions, Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection, and internal policies. The findings show that existing laws can assess platform obligations, but do not explicitly establish liability for failure to prevent deepfake dissemination.
