Abstract

Clash Detection Analysis of Structural and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Works Using Building Information Modeling in the SMU Unggul Garuda Building Project. Coordination errors between structural and MEP elements often trigger rework, delays, and cost overruns in building projects. This study analyzes the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to detect clashes between structural and MEP elements in the SMU Unggul Garuda Building Project and to formulate design improvement recommendations. A descriptive method with a case-study approach was used; structural and MEP working drawings were modeled in Autodesk Revit 2025.4 up to Level of Development (LOD) 300, integrated into a federated model, and examined using the Interference Check feature. The analysis identified 115 clashes, consisting of 32 major and 83 minor clashes, dominated by pipe-to-pipe conflicts. Resolving these clashes at the design stage was estimated to save approximately Rp28.5 million.
