The Effect of Combining LBSO Aisyiyah's "Happy Senior Gymnastics" and Soy Milk Consumption on Osteoporosis Risk in Menopausal Women

Menopause causes a decline in estrogen levels that may increase the risk of osteoporosis. Prevention can involve physical activity and adequate nutrition, including the combination of LBSO Aisyiyah Happy Elderly Exercise and soy milk consumption. This study aimed to determine the effect of this combination on osteoporosis risk among menopausal women. A quasi-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design involved 25 menopausal women selected using total sampling. Osteoporosis risk was assessed using the Osteoporosis Self-Assessment Tool for Asians (OSTA) before and after a one-month intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed Z=-1.272 and p=0.203, indicating no significant effect on osteoporosis risk. Regular physical activity and adequate nutrition remain important for supporting bone health. Future studies should use longer interventions, control physical activity and dietary patterns, include a control group, and consider direct bone mineral density measurement.
