Abstract. This study aims to increase reading interest in children aged 3–4 years at Al Ihsany Playgroup through the implementation of the storytelling method. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) utilizing the design developed by Kemmis and McTaggart, which consists of Planning, Acting, Observing, and Reflecting. It was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle encompassing planning, acting, observing, and reflecting stages. The subjects of this study were children aged 3–4 years at Al Ihsany Playgroup, with a target achievement indicator set at 75%. In the Pre-Cycle phase, the children's reading interest level was at 39.1%, categorized as low. In Cycle I, it increased to 52.2% using the Big Book as a visual media. In Cycle II, it further improved to 78.3% using hand puppets as teaching aids. Following the interventions, the children's reading interest progressively improved and successfully met the expected success indicator in Cycle II.
