Village development is a strategic pillar of national development that seeks to reduce regional disparities and improve community welfare in a sustainable manner. This study examines the development status of villages in Sidoarjo Regency using the Village Development Index (IDM) and investigates the relative contribution of its three constituent dimensions, namely social resilience (IKS), economic resilience (IKE), and environmental/infrastructure resilience (IKL), to differences in village status. Secondary data covering 318 villages published by the Ministry of Villages were analyzed descriptively and tested using one-way ANOVA, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and eta-squared effect-size analysis. The results show that 67.6% of villages are classified as mandiri (self-reliant), 30.5% as maju (advanced), and 1.9% as berkembang (developing), and that IKS, IKE, and IKL differ significantly across village status (p < 0.001 for all dimensions). Economic resilience (IKE) contributes the most to this difference (η² = 0.369), followed by IKS (η² = 0.326) and IKL (η² = 0.231), indicating that strengthening village economic resilience is the most strategic policy lever for accelerating village development in Sidoarjo.
