Abstract

The hammer mill is a tool used by PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia branch to grind corn. The main component of this tool is the hammer mill blade. The hammer mill blade will wear out quickly due to direct friction with the corn. In this Final Project, mechanical property testing is conducted on hammer mill blades, both local and imported, on blades before and after use. By conducting tests on the hammer mill blades, it is expected that their properties can be identified and analyzed based on existing theories. This test uses the Vickers hardness test. The results showed that the imported blades indicate that the material has a fairly stable hardness level with not too much variation between testing points. This indicates that the imported material has a relatively even hardness distribution and good material quality based on the Vickers hardness test results.
